Accent's courses in
the UK take place at Bicton College in the beautiful county
of Devon in South West England.
Bicton College
Bicton College was built in the early
18th century and, before its present use, it was the home of
Lord Clinton. It stands in its own park of 210 hectares and
is reached by a long tree-lined avenue from the main road.
The building is surrounded by formal gardens, trees, fields
and flower beds and at the front is a large lake which looks
onto Bicton Park - designed by the architect of the gardens
at Versailles, Andre Le Notre.
It is now a fully-equipped college and training centre, providing
the most modern facilities and equipment for students from
all over the world.
Accent's permanent executive training centre occupies the
whole of the second floor of the building. Entering the front
door, course participants go through the entrance hall, past
the statue of Lord Clinton and then up the original staircase
with its chandelier and stained glass windows to the quiet
efficiency of the executive suite.
The executive suite has been created out of the 18th century
building to give the modern atmosphere of a training centre
within the beauty of a historic manor house. Careful use of
partitioning, glass and the highest levels of sound-proofing
have produced light, bright, well-equipped teaching rooms and
offices suitable for varying combinations of individual students,
small groups and company seminars.
There are nine training rooms, in addition to the reception
and coffee room, for participants to use. There is an excellent
selection of specialist language learning material, video cameras,
overhead projectors, computers, e-mail, internet, telephone
training technology, audio equipment - in fact everything you
would expect from a top training establishment.
Most of the training rooms look out over the lake and gardens
to the sea which is five minutes from the college.

A Learning Environment
Learning specialist language intensively
is very hard work. If the course becomes too intensive, there
are walks through the gardens, around the lake and among
the trees to clear the head and help participants to work effectively
and with the greatest possible efficiency.
We believe that we have created the ideal environment for
language learning. Our course participants work extremely hard
within a relaxed atmosphere located in a place of great beauty.
